Give The Gift Of Time

If you are short of money or just stumped for gift ideas, why not give the gift of time? You can either make your own card that incorporates a coupon designed for your specific gift or you can print a “gift certificate” on colored paper that you include with a purchased card . Your “gift” can be hand tailored for your Mom, your child, your neighbor, or your best friend. Just think about what they would enjoy. These are some ideas.

For a child:
A picnic at the park
A camping or fishing trip
Staying up an hour late
An extra story at bedtime
An evening of playing a favorite board or card game

For your friend or neighbor:
A free night of babysitting
Pet-sitting while they go on vacation
Free lessons in sewing, knitting, crocheting, computers
A cookbook with your favorite recipes
A personalized calendar

For your mother or grandmother:
Yard work or shoveling snow
Help with their computer or hooking up some electronics
A day trip to a nearby vacation spot
A monthly lunch date
A manicure or pedicure

For a child to a parent:
Breakfast in bed
Help cooking dinner
A back rub
Making your bed
Help with yard work or cleaning the garage

Instead of giving a material gift, create a new tradition and make lasting memories. Spend time with the people who are important to you. Be creative - find more ways to spend time instead of money!

These are great ideas. We give our son a "gift card" once a month. We choose the gift of time and give him a card. He chooses the day.

Thank you.
