The iPod Book: Doing Cool Stuff with the iPod and the iTunes Store (5th Edition)

I got my iPod after playing with my grandson’s last year. I was able to master the basics of downloading songs from iTunes, but that was the extent of my knowledge. Everything else confused me. I was still happy with my iPod even though I knew I wasn’t using all the features.

The iPod Book has changed my life. I especially like that you don’t have to read the whole book to learn what you want! (I DID read the whole book because it was so easy to understand). Each topic is on its own page. You don’t have to flip back and forth to learn how to do things. He includes screen prints so that you can see what he is talking about. The instructions are easy to understand. Even this old grandma could do it.

I learned many useful things that make life with my iPod faster and easier. Some of the cool things I already knew that you could do – I just couldn’t understand the iPod instructions. Other things I had no idea my iPod would do! I didn’t know that I could use my iPod as a portable hard drive (very useful!).

Last month, I didn’t understand how to make a great playlist. I understood the concept, but didn’t understand the benefits. Now, I have a playlist for driving to work (just a few of my favorite songs); a playlist for my daily treadmill jaunt; and a playlist that plays the best songs when I am working my horse in the arena. Another benefit was that I learned how to blend the songs so there is no dead space between them.

This book is great. Both novice and experts will appreciate it.

And best of all: It is modestly priced.
